always in Bali... could probably buy one there but like to give business to the locals. Just make sure you have gears if you are planning to ride to Sukawati or Ubud, also a lock (they usually just have a small lock that just goes around the tyre!, decent brakes too .... good idea to take over your own bike helmet, especially if you intend to ride on the by pass road(not recommended) out to turtle island, and make sure they have a bell.... an essential! or take your own to attach to the hire bike.
A basket on the front is handy for your shopping and wear a bag that you can sling across the body for your purse, don't put your handbag in the front shopping basket..
and I always pay the pasar pagi parking man 1,000 rp to look after my bike or ask a stall keeper to mind the bike and give them some money for their effort. Enjoy .... biking in Bali is a great way to get around, beats all the slow traffic!
