I booked for May10, when I was there in Jan10 and paid a deposit. I booked two double rooms. When I checked out on Tuesday, the rate had increased by 110,000rp, so I queried it. At first they didn't want to budge stating that it is 'new' rate, but on my receipt they'd quoted the May10 rate and there was nothing to state that 'rates were subject to change', so I showed them my original receipt from January and they sorted it.
I'd never stay at the KP again. It was a first and only and I was extremely disappointed. I'd visited many times as I had friends stay there but I was never able to get in as it was always too booked... Well, glad that little bit of curiousity is over with.
The gardens are beautiful, but the service is not. I'm so sick of people saying 'ah well, it's cheap, you get what you pay for'.. I dont think it'd matter whether it was more expensive or not, you couldn't convince me that if they charged a little more that all of a sudden their staff would miraculously metamorphose into caring and efficient employees.
I've stayed at the cruddy tired ole Jayakarta a few times before, and apart from the oldish type rooms, I found very little to bicker about when it came to service. I never thought I'd say that I preferred the Jayakarta to somewhere else.. but after last week, I absolutely do!
Make sure that whatever rate you've been quoted, you take the written proof with you.
The incorrect billing was just ONE of so many issues I had at the KP last week! Perhaps they had all the trainees working......
