After a blissful nights sleep dreaming of the intened battle over toast and pool lounges and thinking of various tatics to use on the offending persons we made our way down to breakfast . We met up with the rest of our group at an outside table enjoying the balmy humidity that greeted us . Time to attack the breakfast offerings so off to the egg station 2 fried over easy , next the toast station ( these conveyor toasters are as fast as watching paint dry ) so I take the risk and proceed to the bacon , lyonnese potatoes ,tomatoes ect back to pick up my toast just in time to catch it as it drops from the conveyor . Good morning I says to the bloke standing next to me with tongs at the ready GIDDAY he says . Struth I think thats a pretty good Aussie impersonation so bewildered I trundle back to our table .
I finished the cooked brekkie and went over to the fruit bar saying good morning to all and sundry so many GIDDAYS in return it has left me completely confused what no Russians , Hanks or Europeans from the east . This has got to be a mistake so I enquired to Ketut as to the make up of the nations inhabiting the Aston at the time and was informed "mostly Aussie's Mr . Ron".
The plan for the day was hatched at brekkie change money (8150) grab Nyoman and into Kuta ( jeez I hate that place ) to do a quik shopping assult then back for happy hour at 3pm . First stop Discovery to the Bintang shop spent 1.75mill rp in here on T shirts beer mugs and a back pack . I got the beer mugs for pre dinner drinks for the group as the hotels don't supply enough in the room . After getting 20 DVD's it was off to Mataharis as we needed to get some photos of Jack our grandson put on canvas . This is so worth the money 30thousand for a 30cm x 40cm print . Next in line Mickey Mouse attire for Jack , this is where I start getting impatient and clock watching as time is ticking on . To sooth my agitation we met up with the rest of the group and had a drinks break so after a few Binnies sitting looking over Kuta Beach we decided to head back to the Aston . Wrong move guys ladies wanted to visit the powder rooms 30mins have passed , the search parties have returned with no sight of the 3 ladies . Thank goodness for mobile phones that eventually get answered the ladies return .
Now my Danish mate ( Bali Virgin ) said he wanted to hire a motorbike after seeing the traffic chaos that is Kuta and a few very near misses he gladly gave that idea away . Arriving back at the Aston it was agreed it was pool time to cool down over a few Binnies and cocktails for the girls . Arriving down at the pool I am absolutely astounded to see lounges without towels what dastardly plot is going on here I think . So on receiving my allocated 2 towels I asked the attendant as to the reason behind all the empty pool lounges and was told ïf guests leave any more thyan 30mins unattended towels taken away" damn another day of fun down the gurgler .
Dinner tonight was at TT which is a stones throw from the Aston and basicly across the road from the Pen . I am so impressed with the menu at this place there is a fairly broad selection of western and asian dishes so it should appeal to all tastes . I ordered the Grilled Lamb Shank for the main and Ceasur Salad for entree be warned the mains are very big serves maybe a little too big as much as you try it is a battle to finish the complete meal . Would I recommend TT to anyone a definite yes and this is only ouir 2nd go at it . I happened to meet Peter one of the owners of TT who has been involved in the restuarant bar scene in Bali for 15 or so years in conversation with Peter he did tell me that the Head Chef Made has been with the group for 13 years but is inclined to be a little heavy on the spices at times so be careful . For all you soccer nuts out there if you are in TB at the time of the World Cup TT is showing it but would suggest you book a spot .
Enough boredom for today next installment the onset of Bintang Belly . Cheers
