Virgin Blue is a low cost airline and as such do not provide blankets and pillows.

I have seen people bring on snacks etc but not sure how much food they will allow you to bring on, fruit, cake and biscuits should be ok, personally I find Virgins food very good and with quite a bit of variety.

Blue saver allows you 20kg of check in baggage and 7 kg carry on.

From memory beers are around $6, soft drinks cheaper, you can also get small bottles of wine , not sure on the price.

TV (in back of seats) was $9 via credit card swipe.

I think by now all purchases would have to be made by credit card, you can have multiple purchases but will only be charged one transaction fee at the end of the flight.

I have found Virgin great to fly with and after 5or 6 trips to Bali with them have never had a problem.(oops not quite right, one trip had no TV)
