We have stayed at the Puri Raja twice in July & Sept/Oct my kids & I loved it. There was a review just recently so check the archives.
Lovely staff, 2 pools (can swim at any hour, nice b'fast cooked when oredered not buffet style, great location.
The weather will be hot & muggy you will sweat day & night outside but great air con in rooms. Only experienced 2 lots of rain, once in July early morning for 10mins & at night in Oct storm for 30mins it was great but so muggy afterwards.
