About the boards, it depends who you're flying with. Garuda allows 15kg for sporting equipment so you might just scrape in if your cover doesn't weigh too much otherwise the extra weight will come out of your allocated 20kg. Length of boards can also be an issue with Jetstar.

I have a friend in Legian at the moment and he's reporting that the banks are pretty good but, as usual, very dependent on tide.

Banks at the Oberoi and further north like Berawa or Batubelig cold be worth a look.

Baliwaves still has good photos of the Bukit working as well as east coast breaks like Keramas but can be fickle this time of year. Head up to places like Balian or Medewi really early one day if there's no swell about in southern Bali.

I'd recommend Canggu but it gets crowded really early.
