Aftr a couple of days relaxing we thought we had better plan a couple of outings. We also found out that it was going to be Xmas day on the following Wed 12th May, which the most of the Balinese have 2 days off and go home to their village. So a lot of the shops will be closed.
My wife had also arrnged with Scooby Doo about 2 months ago to have a carved Conglak game made, so we had better check on the progress of that as well. We saw the Conglak game at Nusa Lembongan Resort on Lembongan Island a couple of years ago, i had made something similar when the kis were young...so she had to have one!!!
We had tried to get one on a couple of previous trips but wer told that it was antique, and the ones you can get from the wood carvers just would'nt do.It had to have the dragons heads on each end and carved feet underneath. Scooby said it will be done in time for us take home...bit worried when they say that.

Kuta-Uluwatu

Scooby took us to Kuta and get the Dvd's and catch up with some friends on the beach at Sam's Bar outside the Inna Kuta. We sat down for a quiet drink(Yeh right) , Sam got us some drinks then after saying hello to everyone it was down to buisness for them!! the girls got hammered they had sarongs and jewlery all over the place...Paul & i sat back and laughed, by the time we'd had 2 bintangs i think the girls had bought half their daily sales.
Time to get out of here so back through the Art Market to see Jay at his shop..(we call and see him every time we are in Kuta). No haggling with Jay he always give us good price,I always end up giving more the he say's anyway.Off to Discovery and have a look then back to pick up the Dvd's from Sakura then let's get outta here.

On the way up to Uluwuta Scooby took us to the Cultural Park..near the University. There is a couple of huge statues there and great views back over Airport, Kuta & Sanur.

Up to Uluwatu(Paul & Sue had'nt been there before), Letting them know on the way to leave thier hats, Sunnies etc in the car or the Monkeys will kidly take them from you.Inge bought some food for the Monkey's which one of them stole a hole packet of nut's before she could even open it.One Japnese tourist had his camera case taken which was pretty funny to watch as their guide tried to grab it back and was promptly told don't do that unless you want a nice bite on the hand. A man came over with some banana's and bribed the monkey to get it back. Then the tourist had to pay him.
The sky was overcast so a nice sunset was out of the question. We went into see the Kekac Dance which is realy good, except for the boof heads that kept turning up during the show and standing up in front of everyone.
Back to the car and home Scooby.

More later
