with the AUD on the slide, they will make up a rate of exchange that will not be favourable for you.
It also sometimes starts arguments and creates further delays as people are asked for more than they calculated, and then only have a $50 note or whatever to pay the additional required, then get caught again on the rupiah change received.
If you are planning to take further trips in the future, or can work with others the rate at the Post Office is good compared to banks with exchange fees.
The downside is the $200 minimum purchase.....and that's where you need to buy for the future or others in your party.
I purchased a few trips worth at 0.91 a month or so ago, so will be happy to be through with no argument for around AUD28 for the next few trips.
