back a couple of weeks now after 5 nights at hardrock for a mates bucks do. all married with kids...(besides the buck) and ready for a good time!
no hassles at airport getting thru, probably the quickest ever!
6th time for me in bali and the other bopys had alll been at least once
hardrock is an awesome place to stay
excellent location and the grounds and pool are excellent.
we are all in our 30s and had read people bagging the rooms here...yes a little dated, but serious, who goes to bali to hang out in their rooms! more than comfortable for the 5 nights.
breakie was good, very busy. great selection and handy for the morning hangover.
we shopped and drank and did the usual night scene.
having been to bali 2 times in 2009 I found it a lot quieter than usual, not too much hussle and bussle on the streets and the traffic not as busy as it has been.
We had some good nights at the bounty and paddys (we are not the typical aussie bogan we dont have southern cross tattoos!) we headed to Ku-da-ta which gave us a great insight into a classier side of bali. Great location, awesome scenery (the beach) and a cruizy place to spend the night drinking coronas! yes alittle pricey, but compared to everywhere else in the world still a cheapish night out.
we headed to waterbomb park for a day, one of the slides (of the big 2) was out of action, so a tad dissapointing, but we had a good day, not overly busy and no major line ups, maybe 5 mins at the most.
we ate out at all sorts of places, the Thai just up from Febreez was sensational as usual and we frequented the stadium bar everyday to catch up ohn the latest footie (not to mention watching our dockers have a massive win!!)
did the usual shopping for the kids, the t shirts, sunglasses, dvds and wii games.
and the usual duty free for the wifey (with a few extras in return for the leave pass)
we took the option of the airport lounge thing with the food, drinks internet and aircon which was a bargain, we didnt have a lot of $$RP left so they let all four of us in for a aussie $10 note and some small RP which was great!
all in all a really good fun time, but back to reality now...counting down the 6 weeks will we are there again.
I did try to chase a printer down who could do some custom shirts for us, but not a lot of luck, if anyone has any ideas, let me know!
