Honestly, there is no wait, fast moving small queue.
When we flew into Ho Chi Minh City we were through in 4 minutes and Hanoi no more than 10.
If you haven't got it, ...don't.
p.s. The embassy stuff was done via mail to canberra, sent passport got all back, visa stamps and all in 5 days. Totally hassle free.
