A poster asked what the rules were for taking food onto an AA flight.
I happen to know the rules, and advised accordingly.
This is what the forum is for.
Whether the poster wants to abide by the terms and conditions is entirely up to them....at least they now know what AA rules are regarding food (includes "snacks etc as asked.").
I also know the rules regarding "breaching duty free allowances".
To breach the 1 litre per person allowance, one has to try to hide the fact that one is taking in excess (This is known as smuggling).
To openly declare the excess, and paying the requested duty, one is not breaching (or smuggling) anything.
I have stated before that it is not for me to scrutinise Indonesian officialdom, or to try to draw comparisons with what may be the case in similar circumstances in Australia or anywhere else.
You are "happy to pay a backhander" and that's your choice, I prefer to do it my way and that's my choice.
If giving accurate answers to a posters question, and correcting an erroneous post is "Pompous" then so be it.
I trust that the original poster is better able to make a decision with the benefit of accurate information.
