I get the fax: $99 per person for 7 nights accom. Choice of three resorts. So I decided what the heck. The resort looked ok on the net!
The resorts are owned by a kiwi I believe- who is mad keen on the beatles. We've stayed at Sekuta twice and Gili Meno once. Sekuta is a very comfortable set of self contained apartments around a lovely pool. It is about 400m from the beach. When I stay I always hire a scooter/car through the resort. They drop/pickup at the hotel. The scooter cost me 50,000Rp/day and the car (a new 7 seater cost 175,000Rp/day.
They are extremely friendly and helpful! I never had a sales pitch for timeshare either. I loved it!
I actually had a nasty little accident with the car. I clipped the ridiculously high kerb coming out of McDonalds and was very concerned about my insurance. The damage would have cost a fortune here. In Bali I paid 3 days rental due to loss of earnings whilst it was being repaired as well as a 200,000Rp excess - all up about $90.
Gilli Bird park is not my choice for a future stay. We absolutely loved Gili Meno. The costs over there are cheaper than Bali!. The Bird Park had excellent accomodation but was about 150m from the beach. We would prefer to stay on the beach next time. I think overall that these vouchers are good value.
