you call cheap.
Why not spend a morning walking around the streets and back gangs meeting people and chatting. As you walk along find a local store and by some cool drinks and some local food, (very cheap)
Then head back to the hotel about lunch time for a swim and a rest in the air con.
Then once it cools down a bit head out and explore different streets and different shops.
It is free to walk as much as you like and free to look in every shop. Just remember that if you ask "how much" in a shop then you have pretty much said you will take that item after haggling for a good price, Also remember that if you do not agree on a good price (for you and them) then you can just walk away and buy nothing.
