Your arrogance & ignorance are astounding.

You obviously cannot comprehend that there are serious, dedicated surfers, just as there are serious, dedicated sportsmen & women in other fields, who have special equipment to suit their needs - eg ability, weight, the conditions & many more factors. Serious skiiers take their own skis/snowboards when travelling to overseas snowfields, serious golfers take their own clubs etc. Indonesia is one of the world's premier surfing locations ergo it is a magnet for surfers.

For some people their particular sport is a very important part of life. Obviously you can't relate to this.

There is a big difference between paddling around out the front of the beaches at Kuta/Legian & surfing in other more remote places where the surf is more challenging.

My husband is a dedicated surfer. He works very hard, not only for financial reasons but also for fitness, all year for his annual 2 or 3 months in Indonesia.

Sporting equipment (ALL sporting equipment) is charged by airlines as they see fit. My husband pays extra for his boards.

Surfers have been going to Bali since the '60s. If not before. My husband doesn't surf in Bali as it is too crowded & the waves aren't good enough. He goes elsewhere in Indonesia & leaves his boards at Left Luggage when he is in Bali to be with me.

I guess from your post that your expertise lies in the realm of sheep.

You always must have the last word so go for it.
