A pest control man in Australia suggested a good way to keep Ratsak, Storm etc away from pets, is to seal one end of a 30cm or so long piece of condute (about 5cm in diameter). Tip the poison into the end of the pipe, sealed end. Dogs and cats cant get into the pipe, maybe add some more 'party food' like fat from meat, seed etc. Rat takes the bait and 'leaves town'.
Lets hope dogs and cats arent hungry enough to eat a dead rat or mouse, ooooooh grose!
