i have given up going to the doctor to get them done i need it done at least 3 times a year sometimes more if i surf heaps. just get some wax-sol and put in in your ear and leave for 24hrs then get a syringe with a little tube on it and take a jug into the shower and just flush your ear out while you are having a shower. it should just wash out it works for me but if you poke about in your ears with cotton buds it might take longer to soften. it's up to you if you want to try it but it works for me .
