Last week I tried to withdraw $A1,000 from a credit union ATM in Australia. The process went through but ended with a screen saying "Unable to contact your financial institution", BUT no cash came out.
I immediately contacted the credit union who said that according to their computer screen, I had withdrawn $A1,000. The credit union kept asking if I had received any cash and I kept saying no.
Then they told me they would have to wait until the security guard company reconciled that ATM. Next day, they reversed the withdrawal and rang to tell me.
