Living in Bali is not as cheap as you seem to think it is. You can't work. Marriage to an Indonesian gives you no right to live in Indonesia, and no right to work there.

Airfares might be 'cheap' back to Australia, but when you are living there, with you and your children being supported by a local on local wages - or even working a bit - there is not enough money to 'come back to Australia whenever you want'. If you have small children it is even harder.

Your idea that something like that would be possible reveals that you don't know what is involved in this particular situation. I'm not saying it can't happen, but it is so far distant from what most girls contemplate, or can handle in the long run.

It becomes even more complex when you have children, as you must know if you are a parent yourself.

I am not by any means suggesting that you give up - far from it. But sooner or later ALL couples in a relationship between Indonesia and Western have a reality check. Something that the OP will get sooner or later.
