for ten years now,but it is alot shorter wait these days, took my friend 3 months last year to get her new husband to ozand i did all the paperwork for her. The main thing is to have proof that it is a genuine relationship, have photos, invites any other proof of things u share together as a couple. And there is alot of running around for translating things, medicals etc, but if it is true love than it is worth it. But as some have said it is worth trying to get him here for a visit 1st to see if he likes it here 1st. Its ok for my friend as we have a close balinese community in Cairns and he fitted in no worries. Good luck and have patience during the process as it can be frustating, trust me i know!!
