A great example of how little money can do so much:
They also told us about a lady who gave birth the other week. She had polio - so did hubby. Whilst they pride themselves on 100% success with breastfeeding - it wasn't possible due to this lady's illness. They send a midwife out to visit every day (an Aussie girl at the moment). She takes the formula with her and ensures it is being given at the correct dose. (Not watered down as would be the way over there due to the cost)
The cost of formula is 60000rp which will last about 2 days. So even if you give 100000rp (about AUD12) you will feed that baby for 2 days. Any money is going to go towards keeping a Mum or Baby alive. Not forgetting that they also have an open clinic for anyone who arrives - and also help with fertility problems.
Can you tell that I am a fan of this centre after just one visit?
