As far as I am concerned IndoNational is just another restaurant - I don't care who runs it or what their arrangements with their staff are. I go there to eat, not to judge the owners' work place relations. I do care about the food, service & ambience. That mural is horrid & detracts from the ambience. For the last 4 years we have been there once each trip, to give it another go. On every occasion the food was overpriced & mediocre. The service was slap-dash. The owner is either too friendly or (on the occasion I was there alone) hovering to have the table vacated. Overall, over the years, no good experiences for us there.
Yet very many people have had great meals there & love it. That is fine. The world would be a very boring place if everyone liked the same things. Maybe we have just been unlucky but we have given the place a fair try.
Re: your bogan comment - there always were several middleaged "bogans" there. So I doubt they would be putting the place down.
When someone gives an opinion of, or report on, a restaurant or hotel etc of course it is subjective. It is merely a personal opinion or a report of a personal experience. And we are all entitled to report on our experiences and to air personal opinions & should be free to air them here as anywhere else. Just as you & I have done. Afterall that is what this place is about - sharing experiences of Bali.
