Went up to Amlapura two years back while the ceremony was on at the Mother Temple, having lunch in Candi Dasa when a Balinese family came
in, they had gone up there the night before, sat at the back of an 11
kilometre tail back and still hadn't got anywhere near. They gave it away for another day.
I went up with a bus load from Tanjung Benoa a couple of days later, same situation with the tail back BUT the TB mob had organised to be met by family with scooters to get them up there.
A truly amazing day and a memory that sticks in the mind.
