as a single, middle-aged woman who travelled alone last november and stayed at cendana, i say go for it. it is quiet and secure (a security guard is on duty at the front of the property and there are always staff around to help). i felt very welcome there on my own and it is so close to restaurants and shops, just walk out onto the street and you are on the main road, so no wandering around in the dark down tiny little streets to get to where you want. it's very safe. and the grounds are so restful, you will love it.
