is best to turn right and head north.
Wander past Mama Putus restaurant which is a very cheap place to eat.
Next to this there is the well presented Gardenia Guesthouse. This is also a good place to dine or just have coffee and cake.
A few metres after this there is Blue Corner Bar and a number of small shops and massage salons. In this area is a small Chinese restaurant named the Fortune Cookie.
About 40 metres after these the road heads off to the right. This takes them past the very good Italian restaurant named Sale e Pepek.
Then there is the Cat & Fiddle, Trophy Bar and Donalds Restaurant.
On the left is an authorised money changer.
This is all with in a couple of hundred metres.
If they head out the beach side of the Mercure and again turn right they can wander down the paved walkway to the very good BUDGET seafood restaurant named Kesuma.
I have sent a couple of thousand people to that particular restaurant and nearly all have come back with glowing reports.
