Short JBR - 8 nights Legian
VOA we waited for about 1.15hrs - what a slow jerk stamping away...hate to be there when fingering printing begins..badly organized. Will even consider VIP next time (for some reason I almost collapsed waiting - face white and green and could not stand - and I pride myself in being pretty tough! So don't know what happened then)
Flew Jetstar Brisbane - Darwin - Denpaser - I have another holiday booked with Jetstar but after that will prefer direct with Virgin Blue - you spend the money you saved just getting a couple of drinks in Darwin - $7 - 10 per glass of wine! and you have to celebrate cause you are so excited to be on your way!
I spent the first night at Puri Raja then moved onto family suite at Melasti Legian.
Puri Raja seemed nice - better for couples or groups of friends IMHO. Breakfast was very average..
Off to Melasti and was given family suite next to my friends room #222 - can't bet it. View of ocean, breakfast area - can't see kids in the playground but can hear them! I would book this room again even if only a couple going though saying that the deluxe rooms near the 'quieter' pool looked pretty adequate. Love the suites - big rooms, lots of space - bathroom a bit smelly - all the staff we encountered were lovely - just be careful when paying Room service - once they forgot to put down payment and tried to bill again. Keep receipts.
Melasti is in a fantastic area. Everything at your finger tips - we ate a couple of times there - lovely food - breaky was great except for maybe one morning but the others were lovely!
Ate a few times around the corner towards jayakarta at Ricky's and Sammy's - Yogi from La casa works there now - my 6 years old loves him - he treats the kids so well.
Didn't have a bad meal anywhere.
Took a day trip with Made from Aussie Bemo as we had 8 so needed a big van. Off to Ubud and Tanah Lot for the newbies...good day!
Called a doctor in for one child as he had Bali belly - went to reception and 10 minutes later she was there - $200US later included medicine. He got better - friends fainted at the bill but there is no substitute when a child is sick. Lovely service from her and Nurse.
Had my 20 year old tattoo redone and 'modernized' at Robins' tattoo by Made (opp Garden View Cottages) Fantastic job could not have thought it could be so good. Cost $100 and took 1.15hrs.
Caught up with Dennis at my favorite beach bar (hi dennis! - Sammy and Suzies ! Love the ladies there... meet wldchk at the airport and met many more wonderful people over there..
I lived with a lady and her son in Noosa 20 years ago and I named my son Koby after her son....well low and behold who wonders over and has a drink in the pool bar...'Koby' my sons' namesake - excellent! - the magic of Bali....
Had a fantastic time - my kids just love Bali soo much - been back 24 hours and my son's like 'wish we were back in Bali, Mum' so do I son....so do I...
