VOA it was said (on this forum)that your passport was collected from you, VOA bought for you and passports stamped for you all in your absence while you enjoyed a nice cold drink in another room!

This may be untrue of then and also now?

I have no problem with people paying for a service that lets you jump the que if they are willing to pay for it or need it.

what i have a problem with is people being allowed into a country without having their passport checked against them in person by official means.

if in fact your passport has always been checked against you in person by official means and officially sanctioned by the Indonesian authorities then i have no problem with VIP VOA and may possibly use it myself?

if it is not officially sanctioned then short term profits for the few could end up as long term problems for the majority.

I have read many posts on other sites where Indonesian people have posted that it is an illegal practice and all part of corruption, If it is then its a security risk that goes behold getting a few dollars from tourists.
