Blueskye, if you have never stooped in the hotel, or know people who have, I think it would be risky to pay the total cost up front. It varies from hotel to hotel, but usually they request a deposit and credit card details as a safeguard for themselves. As with the balance most would ask for the balance on arrival, but some will accept it on departure. You should be told of the terms and conditions when you enquire about accommodation.
