have a valid license to ride a motorbike in Australia & will be getting an International driving permit ? If not, absolutely no insurance policy will cover you & you will be putting yourself at risk in more ways than one.

It is also important to keep in mind that not all travel insurance companies cover you or your mate as the pillion passenger for any injuries (even if you do have the relevant license). Many companies refer to the hire vehicle in their policies & in the fine print you see cars mentioned & not motorbikes. With some of the companies who do cover for riding a motorbikes,it costs an additional premium that you need to pay over the basic rate for your policy. In order to make sure you are covered for what you want you should either phone or email the company & ask specific questions.
Also check out if any damage caused to the motorbike in an accident is covered or damage to any other property.Even fewer companies will cover this.Better to be safe than sorry & know that you have the full cover that you want before you go.Hope you & your mate have a wonderful holiday in Bali.
