last week and requested a "Indo feast" in our Bali style garden to remember their first trip to Bali with us last October. We had sate (with peanut sauce from block bought home), nasi goreng (with spice paste bought at Bintang) fried Balinese style chicken and an Indonesian yellow curry and beef rendang. I always buy spice pastes and spices usually from Bingtang supermarkets. Make sure all the ingredients are listed on the packets and declare on arrival home. I have never had any problems and the packets are much much cheaper than buying here. I also buy vanilla beans and spices from the Ubud markets. We love Indonesian food and I have done several cooking classes whilst in Bali.
