Arrived on time at Denpasar airport, used VIP VOA and really glad we did as the line for immigration was long. By the time my friend had a smoke in the smoking room all the paperwork was completed and we were escorted straight through to grab our baggage. A short trip to our hotel (BGH). My room was fine, but my friends and her 17 yo daughters room was crap. The bath had a crack in it. The TV didn't work, a fuse blew and all the power went out in the room, the fridge broke down and the airconditioning died. All this happened in the first few days. After many complaints they agreed to upgrade her to another room when one was available. They were transferred to a Deluxe room with no additional charges after 6 days in the crappy room. The first day we arrived we walked to Matahari where there were police and firemen everywhere, one of the shops power box had caught on fire. While standing around they agreed to have a photo taken with my friends daughter. We shopped for the usual sunglasses, bintang singlets, watches, shorts and dresses. We swam, ate and drank and relaxed and enjoyed beautiful Bali. Then the rain started and continued for 3 days. It finally stopped on the day we were due to leave. The days went fast and all too soon were were headed home. Before checking out of the hotel I checked the Denpasar airport site to check our flight, which was on schedule for departure. When we arrived at the airport and checked in we found out it was being delayed for 2 hours. We decided to pay 100,000rp to go to the Prada lounge. We finally boarded the plane and headed back to Melbourne with sadness in our hearts.
