Legian accommodation

My family and I are in Bali for 3 weeks in July.Its been 20 years since my last visit.I've been trying to book accom online and are finding a lot of recommended hotels, full.Is it still possible to just turn up and find accomm in small clean family run hotels near the beach during this busy time.
