Many visits to this establishment have shown me that good service, happy and friendly staff, good food and hospitable owners are the norm here.
Isolated examples of kitchen cock-ups can happen anywhere. But I'll bet the owner's response to the failed micrometer test on the pizza base and the alleged oversized pineapple would have been similar to mine - i.e an acceptance of the fact that the patron's expectations were different to the restaurant's offerings and perhaps a dryly humourous comment on that. Last week I witnessed another person berating staff in Seminyak for bringing a pizza with a thin base and topping that was "not chunky enough" - so I guess where traditional Bali food like pizza is concerned, one needs to find a retaurant that will cater to one's taste.

BTW - the gentleman owner in question is legendary for his acerbic and characteristically Aussie sense of humour, which is part of the ambience of this place. Maybe a little hypersensitivity was in evidence here? ;-)
