That is so sad poor little thing, hope she still has a good holiday.
Where are you staying?

My kids love the bird markets near Denpasar all manner of strange animals for sale, feeding the Turtles at the Turtle conservation and Education Center on Serangan Island is something they will never forget.
At the Tandjung Sari hotel in Sanur you can watch little local kids have traditional dance lessons twice a week, my daughter loved this.

Near Ubud there is a beautiful Temple called Pura Gunung Kawi it is in the village of Sebtu, I think this is the most wonderful peaceful temple for children to see. Very easy walking and here she will see koi as big as small dogs, you can buy pellets to feed the fish(don't get it mixed up with Gunung Kawi Royal Monuments).
Bali Zoo near Ubud is fantastic very pretty and not to big, you could go at a slow pace have lunch there.

It depends on where you are staying if she is OK driving around, I think you will find that she is going to get sooo much attention that if she is a normal little 12 year old girl, she will spend the two weeks feeling like a very special princess whatever you do over there!!

Good Luck
Cheers Deb.
