Yes we are the same vintage. I always stayed next door to Puspa Sari at Suka Hati in jalan Padma Legian. I used to rent my motorbike off the people at the rum jungle. You would remember Happys, Jonis, Do Drop Inn, also. I once got lost in the evening on the track through the coconut plantation on my way back from the rum jungle too many you know what! Oh they were the days. The long walk from Kuta to Legian in the pitch dark, just my fiend & I and the occassional dog baking at us! We used love buying hot peanuts from Bemo corner Kuta. I loved the all night puppet shows, chatting , & eating Babi Guling. I too don't stay there anymore I stay in Sanur, even Ubud is to crowded now. I remember the only telephone exchange at the aiport (mum, dad, - send me some more money to Bank Negara). I remember when Luckys had the first neon sign. My friend is okay, she owes money to the bank and the banjar they have been very good to her. The rest is owed to some Balinese gambling ring from Denpasar, she was terified off them at first when they were coming to he house all the time; but now she tells them were to go and pays them whatever she can. I plan to pay off the bank loan for her. Cheers.
