Prefer cash as you tend to get a better rate....But many will try to rip you off especially if you are a newbie and don't know the currency. If you find a changer you can trust go there.
Have had many scams tried on me and hope I have caught all (but probably not). Simple things like dodgy calculators can be evaded if you change eg $100 at a time...arithmetic is simple.
Some scams: 8300 to the dollar they may give you 80,000 plus 3000 ie you lose 27000.
Any place that uses small notes (eg 20,000) walk away.
ATMs are straight but you pay a commission to the bank (usually about $4 per transaction).
When you refer to card is it a credit card or bank card? Whichever check accounts when you get back to make sure that extra withdrawals haven't been made. If so CC will usually reimburse you.
