This message is to inform surfers about Toke Surf Shop on Poppies Lane 2. DO NOT BUY A SURFBOARD THERE!!! Here's why...

I traveled to Bali in Jan. 2010 and was planning to buy a board, as I would stay on the island for a couple of months. After some shopping around, I found a "nice one" at Toke Surf Shop and bought it for 3.75 million rupiah (about $375 USD). I surfed on the board for 3 months, had a great time but wanted to sell it before returning home. There's where the trouble started. Every place I would take it to informed me that my board was previously and seriously cracked (down the middle) and therefore they would only give me $80 tops for it. Needless to say, I was completely shocked that Toke had sold me a previously broken board (with a really good paint job) for a really high price, despite the fact that I asked them numerous times before buying it if it had previously been broken.

I went back to Toke to tell the shop owner about my board. I explained that the salesman lied to me buy selling me a broken board at full price. His response? Business is business. We will not give you any type of refund or apology.

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES AT TOKE SURF SHOP!!!! AND IF YOU GO TO POPPIES LANE 2 AND SEE PEOPLE BUYING BOARDS THERE, WARN THEM!!!!
