Just arrived home from a wonderful 2 weeks in Bali with hubby and 15 and 12 year old daughters. Having been 8 times prior,(and based in Legian every time) I thought it was time to step out of our comfort zone. So, after landing we headed to Casa Padma in Legian for 3 nights just to get back into the swing of things (and to keep the girls happy) Huge room with 2 king beds at 90 US a night with breakfast. Amongst the hustle and bustle of Jalan Padma this resort is great.Had 2 dinners at Indo National and as usual were welcomed by Milton and Kerry and a yummy feast. Headed up to Ubud for the next 3 nights to Tjampuhan Resort and Spa staying in the glorious 2 storey Walter Spies cottage. This resort was spectacular with the grotto spa being the most beautiful sight i've ever seen in Bali. I have read complaints about being too many stairs but I used them as my workout every morning.Great dinners at Murnis Warung and Ryoshi. Very hard to leave Ubud, but had the next 5 nights booked at Seminyak. Decided to leave the resorts behind and found a 2 bedroom villa just off Jalan Plawa. Well, at last! Why did I ever bother with hotels when there are villas out there. The villa (la Casa Bella Villa)was stunning. Hired 2 motorbikes and checked out Uluwatu and Tanah Lot (again). After hearing so much about Ku De Ta I thought it was time for a visit. Well, to me, I thought it was a gorgeous setting, however too busy, too loud and too expensive for us. Anyway a great time was had by all. Lots of shopping, sightseeing, eating and drinking Bintangs. Gotta love our Bali..
