Hawaii would be better compared to Tahiti, Cook Islands, Tonga and Fiji. They are all considered part of the the South Pacific Islands whereas Vietnam and Bali (Indonesia) are part of SE Asia.
At some point you may want to realize that this post is nothing more than information for others looking at what Vietnam might be like compared to Bali. It's not that complicated...just food for thought.
