Felmingham is right the journey time is about 1.5 hours. I would suggest you think twice about renting a bike for the trip and go with a car and driver. Driving conditions in Lombok are more hazardous than Bali even with more chance of chickens, dogs, buffalos, etc on the road than you do in Bali as well as the crazy drivers!
En route from Kuta a few places you can stop off at are the weaving village of Sukaraja, the pottery village of Penujak, the traditional Sasak villages of Rembitan & Sade.
As well as Kuta itself, if you have time head out to one of the other local beaches. mawun is my personal favourite west of Kuta and you pass by Ashtari cafe on the way (that Felmingham mentioned) Or if you head east Tanjung Aan is another beautiful white sand beach which you will have almost to yourself.
