I have had to buy antibiotics over the counter at a Chemist twice in Bali for very sore throat, swollen glands etc. First time I had Amoxicillin which fixed me up (from Guardian Chemist). This visit, in January, throat was worse than before and I could hardly swallow. Went to Apotek and was given only 3 Antibiotics, 1 to be taken daily. He said they were stronger than Amoxicillin. By the 3rd day I was feeling as fit as a fiddle and I could get back into eating the lovely food again. It is great that you don't have to outlay the expense of a visit to the Doctor to get prescription.
