...That's just about sums up what my friends, who have lived in bali now for the past 4+ years say.....
They live on the Bukit, have brought a beautiful villa, sold up the house back in Aust, put the "leftover" cash into both Singapore and Indo banks and live off that (along with a little extra income from
looking after/arranging repair works for friends holiday villa's whilst they are back in Aust.)
He loves it, she doesn't and now wants to return to Aust. They have had the house on the market for 2 yrs+ and wouldn't be able to buy
a house anywhere near as nice as the one they sold up before moving to Bali.
My wife and i tried to talk them into renting out the house in Aust
and using the rent to pay for rent in Bali, giving them not just the
"quick return option", but also the chance to move around...even to other countries, but that fell on deaf ears....
That's the option Wifey and I will be taking when we retire...albeit
in another 11 years+ !!!
