Cheap Flights

Hi. A friend and I would like to travel between the end of April and the end of May. I have been looking heaps for cheap flights and would really appreciate any suggestions on where to look or how to get some? We come from Brisbane but would be willing to make as many stops/transfers as necessary if it would mean that we could get cheaper flights.
