I have stayed at Puri Damai once about 2 years ago and will be returning in several days for a month-long stay. I stayed in the 2-bedroom unit and found it great; nice and quiet and well-appointed. On this visit I will be staying in a one-bedroom unit on upper floor and somewhat distant from the front (street). I did notice on last visit that on Thurs, Friday and Sat nights there was a rise in street noise but I didn't find it too bad but that said I did book this time with street-noise in mind. Puri Damai gets a lot of return guests and many book a year out so it can be hard to get certain rooms.
