The flight was organised by friends working at the mine site. PT Newmont have a permanent charter that flies from Bali to Sumbawa a couple times per day, sometimes via Lombok (depending on demand). Sometimes direct.
If you are a supplier to PT Newmont you should be able to organise a flight through them. The air strip is non existant as the plane lands on the harbour and parks up at a terminal on shore. All on PT Newmont lease and induction is required before you go any further.
Would be best to arrange all of the above well before your arrival as it is not easy to access the site without all the correct documentation.
There is a ferry that travels from East Lombok direct to the harbour as well but this means get to Lombok, travel across the island by car and get the ferry.
