Yes, you can do that through the AA website.
There is a fee involved plus you will have to pay the difference betwween the original fare and the new fare. It pays to check a few dates to find the cheapest new fare.
If you are trying to transfer a cheap promotional fare to a later date, the extra costs can exceed buying a new ticket outright.
