Would definately suggest our driver and friend if this is your first trip - can have a look on face book Made Mangku Tours. We have been using him for many years and he knows all the good shopping spots for jewellry,homewares,copies plus tourist spots as has taken us and friends many times.Has also been really good with the kids as he has 2 girls of his own.You can get him to take you shopping,half/full day trips airport pickups or just to restaurants and can definately say he is very reliable and trustworthy.
I have been to Bali both just with my daughter,family and on girls trips(love these-another one coming up in august)and youll have a great time. accommodation all depends on your budget and avail of course May is probably slightly better weather and easier for accomm after school hols all fin.
My 2 fav places to stay are the Patra Bali its right down near the airport but beautiful serene setting huge rooms in a Deluxe Suite HUGE pool and now 10 mins walk along beach path to Kuta. Excellent massages 2 mins away. Taxi to Kuta $2. My next fav if want to be in really close is the poolside cottages at the Ramayana max they sleep is 2.Both of these are about $200/room a night inc b/Fast but both great and staff really good..
If you are int in Made have left my email open and can suggest lots of day trips etc that are worth doing and shops etc to go to.
Youll find heaps of kids clothes there they have some really nice ones and great prices.
