Bali could or might be getting that machine that you put your chip passport in which requires the person with the passport to do it.
This could be the explaination to the above.
It could be, it might not be. Just taken a punt as this would make sense due to the fact that Hadi could not do this for you.
If this was the case you could be out of the airport in no time.
They were looking at getting the queues down and maybe they have invested in this machine.
