part of the focus on food is that it's easy to write about..and it helps other people find good places to eat if you recommend a good spot.
Everyone has those magic moments in Bali meeting locals etc..but you have to have some writing skills to convey these moments..and also your just telling your story...if you tell about a restaurant your giving advice in a way. I love the stories and the advice.
Also the service is so slow sometimes in Bali that your 3 meals can take a while...no worries because you've got great surroundings and are on holiday..but it can take up a fair whack of your day.
Just back from 3rd trip...didn't have quite the same awesome food as last time due to budget restrictions...bit of a shame but still a great holiday. We do find the Indonesian food very hit and miss. suprisingly they seem to almost always do superb burgers in BAli & lombok
