don't forget the museum (A guide will show you around and explain things).
A look at Pupuan (?) park and statue if you are interested to read the history of that spot.
The bird market may be worth a look, depending on what you like.
Some of the department stores are a bit different (more locally geared), and just wandering the streets, say from Ramayana, down to Jalan Hassanudin, through to Jalan Sulewesi and to the markets and small shops around (approx 1 hour).
There are some good opticians spread around, good watch repair and sales places etc etc.
Be mindful that Denpasar is not a place where you can just pop anywhere for a Bintang, although there is a Chinese restaurant at Kumbasari markets (just on main road by bridge over the river) where the food is good and cold drinks available.
"Guides" will try to latch onto you, so if you are not interested just be firm.
If you go in with a driver or friend, the guides will give you a miss.
A drive around Renon will show some wide tree lined streets and large houses, including some of the Consular offices.
It's an interesting place and very different to the tourist hub.
