I love food & I love to cook. The standard of restaurants I like to go to in Bali is far beyond our means here in Oz. For example, a fish dish at moderately-priced Un's costs about $7 yet the equivalent here would be $40-$50. If I bought a similar piece of fish here to cook myself it would be at least $12, without the sauce, garnish, accompaniments, the effort involved in cooking etc.

I think a lot of people are like me. We enjoy great restaurant food but can't afford it other than for special occasions. But in Bali we can eat at fab restaurants most nights for not much more than the cost of a meal at a cheap Asian here.

So, the more info about restaurants the better, I say.
